Maggie was unexpectedly faced with retirement from teaching due to an
accident in which she broke her femur and severely damaged her already replaced knee and tendon. She is unable to walk and/or drive and has been confined to a wheelchair for the past four years. She was a very active member of her church and local community before the accident. She is fundraising to have the opportunity to gain back some of her independence and enable her to do volunteer work. She will also be able to reunite with friends and join a senior center to connect with peers.
The donations will go towards out-of-pocket medical expenses and home modifications to relieve the financial burdens due to her catastrophic injury as well as to allow Maggie to be able to go in and out of her home independently and safely; especially if there were to be an emergency. Your donations will bring her closer to self-sufficiency, connecting with friends, a better quality of life, and the ability to remain in her home.
Margaret has chosen to fundraise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors. Contributors can be sure donations will be used to pay or reimburse medical and related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the Give button.
