Dear Friends and Family,

Darrell is currently awaiting a heart transplant at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa. He has already undergone several hearts surgeries; his heart has weakened to the point that his only chance for survival is a heart transplant.

Although Darrell has insurance – which is expensive in itself – he faces many uninsured (out-of-pocket) transplant-related expenses. Funding this procedure will be a monumental task. Even after he receives a transplant, Darrell’s expenses will continue in the form of medications (lifelong), co-pays, and doctor visits to ensure the continued health of Darrell and his precious “gift of life.”

A fundraising campaign has been established with HelpHOPELive in Darrell’s honor to help offset his medically related expenses. HelpHOPELive is a nonprofit organization that has been providing assistance to the transplant community for more than 25 years. All contributions are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.
