Addison “Addy” Moore is your stereotypical 5-year-old in a lot of ways. She can be sweet. She can be
sassy (…very). She loves to watch movies and play with her toys. And of course, she fights with her twin
brother, Austin. One way she is not typical though is she can’t walk…Well, yet anyways!
The Moore Twins were born extremely premature at just 26 weeks and spent the first 4 months fighting
for their lives in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. While Austin was able to overcome these challenges
and develop typically, Addison has been left with severe developmental delays and several diagnoses,
including cerebral palsy and epilepsy. The bottom line is she has limited motor function of her legs and
left arm. And yet, despite this, this girl has a burning desire to walk and move, and a Trexo-Robotic is
just the piece of equipment she needs to do it!
The Trexo-Robotic uses robotic leg attachments on her current walker to help teach her a proper gait
pattern. It provides assistance when needed and helps strengthen the leg muscles to function
independently. We were actually fortunate enough to demo the Trexo and watching our little girl walk
“normally” in her walker brought us to tears. In just those five short minutes, we saw just what a game-
changer this machine could be.
We want to give Addy the chance to walk alongside her brother and we believe this machine is the key
to unlocking her potential. We’re not gonna sugarcoat it – it’s expensive. Like really expensive. We’re
fighting the insurance fight to help cover some of the costs, but every day spent appealing to insurance
is another missed opportunity for Addy to start practicing walking.
So, we’re fundraising. Help Hope Live is an 501(c) charity foundation that helps people get the medical
devices and care they need. Every dollar donated is tax-deductible and will be used to help people like
Addy get that game-changing device they need. We hope you’ll consider donating in Addy’s name.
No matter what, Addy is hellbent on being the best version of herself she can be. This girl works so hard
in her ridiculously full therapy schedule, and yet, she almost never complains. She is our inspiration to
better parents, and we’re going to do everything in our power to reward that positive #addytude!
Our family and friends are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live in honor of Addison Moore to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with Catastrophic Illness.
We have chosen to fundraise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors. Contributors can be sure donations will be used to pay or reimburse medical and related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the Give button. And please share Addison’s page on your social media platforms.
