James was 19 years old when this happened and the doctors in the ICU told us he would ‘never’ open his eyes and that we should allow them to harvest his organs for other people. BUT James has opened his eyes and is slowly improving after 4 years of constant care.
James is minimally conscious and we continue to believe that he will emerge into full consciousness but we do not know when or how long this will take but we are willing to continue! We are pleading with people to please help us. Pray and give and please pray even more. God knows our hearts and sees our efforts.
James communicates by turning his head, blinking his eyes and attempts to speak but he has a tracheotomy which makes it very difficult for him to make any sounds. James needs help in all aspects of daily living. * His mother and brother are his 24/7 care givers. Many treatments are available to improve his life but they are not covered by his insurance. Medical equipment, physical therapy, home modifications, and just the daily items needed to help are very costly.
James is also fundraising for stem cell treatments but they are only available in Mexico and come with no guarantees even though they are very expensive. Please donate to Help Hope Live in James’ honor. Please ask your friends and family to give. Nothing is impossible with God and we Thank you for whatever you do.
Our family and friends of James Valley are raising money through the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with Catastrophic Injury. We have chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live because they assure fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors. Contributors can be certain that donations will be used to pay or reimburse medical and related expenses.
Our grandson James hung himself with his slip knot noose that did not come undone when he passed out. This dare or challenge are what some kids have discovered from the internet ‘choking challenges.’ It is suppose to give the person some kind of euphoric feeling but it is VERY dangerous.
Please ‘WARN’ everyone not to try these choking challenges no matter how they are performed because if the brain does not have proper oxygen for unknown amounts of time…. it begins to turn off.
To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, please click on the GIVE button and please share James’s page on your social media platforms or wherever you think people will read it. For more information, please contact Help Hope Live at 800.642.8399.
