I have always lived a positive productive life and I’ve never let my health challenges get in my way. For 35 years, my healthy eating and positive attitude have helped me avoid the inevitable. In 2001 a bladder infection went undetected and landed me in the hospital for 21 days. At that point the infection compromised my kidney to where they were only functioning at 35% . Now my kidneys are only functioning at 10% and I need your help.
My battle with kidney disease has come to a critical point. Now I am in Stage 5 kidney failure and am in need of a transplant. I’m asking my family and friends to join me in raising funds for the non profit Help Hope Live. Their mission is to help with critical expenses I will face immediately after surgery, including
the cost of lodging near the transplant center where I am required to stay for a minimum of 30 days following my discharge.
Since having type 1 diabetes since I was 17 the Transplant Team at Mayo Clinic are recommending a Kidney/Pancreas transplant to avoid future complications with diabetes.
While I do have health insurance, surprisingly, many transplant expenses are not covered.
Donations to Help Hope Live can help ease the financial burden of a transplant and allow me to focus on a healthy recovery and a long life ahead.
I have chosen to fundraise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors. Contributors can be sure donations will be used to pay or reimburse medical and related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the Give button. And please share my page on your social media platforms.
