Help make a difference in Corey’s Life
Dear Friends and Family,
We need your help. My loving husband Corey Liu is in need of a life-saving kidney transplant. He is a wonderful father to our two daughters and a good friend to many. Over 20 years ago, Corey was diagnosed with Lupus. Throughout the years, he suffered many setbacks and hospital stays, but he made it his priority to care for his family.
In June of 2006, Corey was diagnosed with End Stage Renal Failure. Since then, he has been on dialysis 12 hour every day, 7 days a week. He is currently at the top of the transplant waiting list at the University of California San Francisco Medical Center.
With the cost of the transplant, the medications, including insurance, driving from San Jose to San Francisco twice a week, and other unforeseen circumstances which could arise is surely overwhelming and quite frightening. Even with insurance there are many expenses that must be paid out of pocket. Some of these are co-pays, deductibles and Corey will be on a life-time of anti-rejection medications. This is where your help is needed.
A fundraising campaign in Corey’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for 30 years. All contributions are held in the Southwest Kidney Transplant Fund, and administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. You can help make a difference in Corey’s life. Please help us with a contribution. It will mean so much. For more information, please contact HelpHOPELive at 800.642.8399.

On behalf of Corey and our family, thank you for your kindness, generosity and prayers.

Thank You Everyone! I received my new kidney on March 1, 2015 at UCSF Medical Center Kidney Transplant Hospital at about 1 am in the morning.

I am doing well, but the medications and transportation to and from UCSF is very involved. But, no dialysis! I've been given a new life. God is good. Thank you.
