On August 6th 2023, at the beach with his friends and brother for his birthday, Dominic got caught off guard by a wave while swimming in the ocean at Montauk. Dom was carried out of the water by his friends, unable to feel his lower body. He was immediately airlifted to SBUH where they diagnosed him with a t9 spinal cord injury and 2 completely broken ribs. They performed surgery on his back, yet Dominic is still unable to regain feeling or control of movement from his belly button and below. Dominic is now being treated at a rehab facility in Boston where he is working hard to regain his mobility.
Dom is one of the most kind, caring, and compassionate people you could meet. Dom is a lifelong Huntington resident and alum of the Huntington High School Class of 2017, UPS driver and an amazing son, brother, and friend. He is extremely determined to work hard as he navigates his recovery. He now faces an immeasurable journey ahead, and we are raising funds to help his family with the financial burden throughout his rehabilitation and this uncertain time. Please consider donating to this fund in honor of Dominic.
We have chosen to fundraise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors. Contributors can be sure donations will be used to pay or reimburse medical and related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the Give button.

We at Team Dom would like to thank everyone for their generosity and their support at his first campaign fundraiser at Six Harbors Brewery. We had an amazing turn out with over 50 raffle baskets. We actually had one of the most successful events that Six Harbors Brewery has ever seen!
As of November 27th, Dominic is now continuing his rehabilitation at Project Walk of New Jersey where he is working one on one with recovery therapists Monday through Friday. His fight is just getting started and we hope that you all will continue to partner with us and follow along throughout his journey.
Thank you for helping, hoping and caring. Check out some new videos of Dom at Project Walk here, and stay tuned for more updates to come!!
