I have some wonderful news to share with all of you. On December 19. 2009, I was fortunate enough to receive a heart transplant at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Presbyterian Hospital, in Pittsburgh, PA. Every day, I am amazed by my progress and grateful to have this second chance at life. It was a wonderful Christmas present for me; as well as my family and friends.
I would like to send a great big thank you to everyone for their love, prayers, and comfort to me and my family during my hospitalization and while I’ve been recovering. Jeff and I could have never done it without all of your support. We are truly blessed to have such kind family and friends.
Paying for my transplant is a monumental task. It’s a challenge that I cannot meet without your support. Even with insurance, the cost of transplantation is overwhelming. Because of this, I must continue to rely on those with giving and caring hearts to help me sustain what can only be deemed a miracle. To help ease the burden of my on-going medical expenses a fundraising campaign has been established in my honor with HelpHOPELive. HelpHOPELive has been assisting the transplant community with fundraising for nearly 30 years. All contributions made on my behalf are tax-deductible and will help maintain my gift of life. No gift is too small and will be so appreciated.

I would just like to thank everyone for their continued support in my post-transplant journey. I apologize for not keeping current updates. I'm going to do better with that.
Life has been great since my transplant. My heart function is good and I've had no rejection. I am truly blessed. I am so thankful for my donor and I think about her often.
I am still on numerous medications that I will be required to take many times a day. These medications are quite expensive and can cause financial hardship for my family most months. It is because of donors like you that I am able to help offset that financial burden. So, I will be forever thankful for your support.
If you can please consider donating to my cause. If you can't donate, please consider sharing my page with your family, friends, churches, groups, social clubs, etc. Every dollar helps and no amount is too small.
Thank you!
Christine
