While performing at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota, Mike started feeling bad enough to go to the hospital, where he was informed he’s not going home until he gets a heart transplant!
We paid for our own airfare to get him to the closest transplant center to our home in Las Vegas. He’s had his defibrillator save his life, had CPR performed and spent several days on a ventilator, and most recently had a heart pump installed buying time while on the transplant list. While we wait for the gift of a new heart for him here in Phoenix, we are hours away from our home, and will be for several months following transplant. We’ve been encouraged to set up this fundraiser and would greatly appreciate your help.
Mike’s been a drummer his whole life and was very active in the Chicago and Las Vegas music scenes. He also enjoys helping to restore the homes in our mid-century modern neighborhood to their original beauty and golfing at the course where the Rat Pack partied.
He’s an amazing husband, father and grandfather and we love traveling the country seeing all of our “kids.” Everyone who comes into contact with Mike says the same thing…he is the sweetest, most chill guy they’ve ever met. Even through these trying times, his humor and positive attitude are a testament to his character.
Mike and I may have only been together for seven years, but we feel like we were made just for each other and are truly blessed to have found one another. We are inseparable and want at least another forty years together!
Other than our immediate need of lodging expenses, we will eventually incur the cost of traveling back and forth to the transplant center, along with the life-long prescriptions he’ll require.
To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, please click on the GIVE button. Another way you can help is to please share his story far and wide. You’ll not only be helping us, but this wonderful nonprofit organization.
Thank you for your support!
His loving wife,
Ivy

I know it isn’t much, and is a small fraction of the bills. But I hope it helps when added to all the other contributions.
Glad to see you on the mend!
