For those of you who don’t know, approximately 1 year after recovering from Hospitalization from Covid19 and ensuing POTS syndrome, Scott beat the odds and returned to work, only to be diagnosed with Liver Cirrhosis weeks later. His wife Marisa had been a year into her recovery from Stroke, from Covid19 Hospitalization, when the news came. The couple has spent 23 months battling back from these diseases, and as Marisa has garnered her strength, Scott has taken a turn for the worse. Scott has lost over 100lbs., living on a limited diet and suffering from loss of muscle mass and exhaustion.

If you know Scott, he is a fighter, and he is fighting! However, if you know Scott, you also understand the positive impact he has had on his immediate family. He is a father to his teenage daughter Ava who has entered her Senior Year of High School, a step father to Lindsey and Ashley, and a grandfather to 7, Uncle to 4 as well as a loving husband to Marisa of 21 years. Scott has spent decades in management at GM, Arcelor Mittal and Ford providing for his family, but now he faces his own mortality, at too young of an age.

Liver transplants can cost well over $1,000,000; the family must pay premiums and their portion that insurance won’t cover. Family and friends of Scott are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to help fund this. Scott has chosen to fundraise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors. Contributors can be sure donations will be used to pay or reimburse medical and related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the Give button.
