Meet Brayden and Joshua Helms. They are identical twins with Cerebral Palsy and Global Developmental Delays. They were born at 34 weeks old weigh 4 and 5 lbs. They said they were healthy and sent them home in 3 days. At the age of 6-9 months I suspected something was wrong. They weren’t reaching their milestones like they should be, but I thought they are just behind because they were born early. At the age of 1 years old they started rolling over and sitting up. I thought they will catch up, but they didn’t so at the age of 20 months I enrolled them in sooner start program that helped work with them till they are 3 years old with braces, equipment, and therapy. The program coordinator suggested that I have them evaluated by docs and sign them up for disability and I did. They’ve hit a few bumps here and there, as we all have, but for the most part they are happy. We are taking donations to help with medical equipment. With the help of family and friends we can do it.
