Help Support Sidney's Every Step!

Sidney George was born on the morning of Valentines Day 2022 by emergency cesarean after complications during labor. Life saving measures were performed after Sidney endured hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) – a limitation of oxygen and blood flow causing traumatic brain injury. Uncertainty mounted once we realized his doctors could not confirm whether Sidney would be as healthy as we expected, or even be able to one day walk or talk. Our lives were changed forever. At 10 months old, Sidney was officially diagnosed with Spastic Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy with an emphasis on fine and gross motor delays.

4 years old now, Sidney is a bright and happy boy who loves music, nature and watching monster trucks! Oral motor delays have affected his ability to speak (and eat certain foods) but that doesn’t keep him from singing the notes of his favorite songs or chatting with relatives via FaceTime. ‘Hollywood Sidders’ as some call him, is a true star that shines brightly upon everyone he meets. Just try not to smile when he says, “hi!”

We're Back — and We're Heading to Iowa! 🌟2025 brought some unexpected challenges our way — including an impending relocation that put our fundraising plans on hold and pushed back two rounds of out-of-state intensive therapy we had hoped to complete. But we never stopped moving forward, and neither did Sidney. What did happen in 2025 was no small feat. Sidney has been absolutely relentless with outpatient therapy at Shriners Children's Hospital here in Philly — speech, occupational, and physical therapies, two to three times a week, every single week. During that time, he graduated to the next size gait trainer (our boy is growing up!), and last Fall, something truly exciting began to emerge: small, independent bursts of unsupported sitting. Incremental, yes — but monumental to us.Now that we've settled into our new home, we are laser-focused on getting Sidney's rehabilitation back on track — and that means a trip to... Iowa?!A few years ago, while deep in research on brain injury rehabilitation, I came across the term Functional Neurology — and it led me to a remarkable team called Infinity Neurology Development Center. After speaking with their co-founder, Thomas and I knew immediately: this was our next step. Their approach goes far beyond physical strength training. We're talking neurological recalibration — combining inflammatory hyper-vigilance testing with laser modalities specifically designed to create new pathways in the brain. Truly riveting, cutting-edge care that aligns deeply with everything we've studied and believe in for Sidney. We are confident this will be one of Sidney's greatest advancements yet. Here's where your help comes in. Two weeks, five days a week, three hours a day — this intensive program runs nearly $12,000, and with travel, a car rental, and extended-stay accommodations, the full trip is estimated around $18,000. This doesn't include the wages Thomas and I will forgo to be fully present for Sidney during this time.Every dollar donated through Help Hope Live goes directly toward Sidney's medical care and rehabilitation. If you've been a part of Sid's journey before — thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. If you're new here, welcome. We are so glad you found us.Help us get Sidney to Iowa. Every step — and every dollar — matters.- Krishna

Introducing... our PRESCHOOLER. 🎒🌿

Somebody slow down time, please — because somehow we have a four-year-old on our hands, and not just any four-year-old: a preschooler.

Sidney started Nature Preschool in October 2025, and let me tell you — he is absolutely thriving. I have the immense privilege of attending school with him as his 1:1 aide, which means I get a front-row seat to every muddy adventure, every giggle with a new friend, and every moment he discovers something brand new in the forest. Everyday truly is a new adventure, and we are learning right alongside him how to embrace adaptability at every turn.

Our relocation to Roxborough has been such a gift. We are now just a short distance from his preschool and Shriners Hospital, where he continues his outpatient therapies twice a week. Sidney has a lawn for the first time in his life (mom included 🙋🏽‍♀️), easy access to the Wissahickon trails, and a neighborhood full of wonderful new friends who have welcomed our little family with open arms.

Watching Sidney blossom into the social butterfly he is — waving at neighbors, exploring the woods with his classmates, lighting up every room he rolls into — is everything. He continues to show us every single day that joy is not something you wait for. It's something you make.

We are so excited for what's ahead. Stay tuned. 🌱
