UPDATE: We raised $8700.00 which was more than we needed for the wheelchair lift. Since we raised more than was needed, I re-evaluated the equipment and decided to order a different wheelchair lift and also get a seat lift for me, so I won’t have to transfer up into my van. We are need another $675.00 to pay the equipment in full. You all have been so generous, I really appreciate it! I’m asking for a little more to make this happen, we are so close! I have until January to raise $675.00. I think we can do it. I have attached a video so you can see exactly what I will be able to purchase.
My name is Joe Little, I’ve been a T-12 complete paraplegic for 27 years as of June 11th, 2025. I’m very blessed to be able to work full time from home for a local hospital as an IT analyst. Those who know me know how independent I have been, but dealing with chronic pain and getting older is making getting out of the house and just living life much more difficult. I find myself needing more assistive devices as I get older.
I’m very grateful to have so many wonderful friends and family that have been extremely supportive over these 27 years. They have been there for me time and again. Many of you helped me raise money last year and I greatly appreciate all who donated!
Last year we raised $4400.00 which allowed me to get hand controls, installed in my Toyota van, and pay for some injections which were not covered by insurance, to help with the pain I deal with daily. I still have some money left over from the first campaign which will go toward this year’s goal.
This year I am raising money to get a lift that will pick up and pull my wheelchair into the van for me. This will cost about 7-8 grand to purchase and install.
Help Hope Live is doing their Giving Tuesday again this year on December 2nd. On giving Tuesdays, they waive all the credit card fee’s so that more of the money you donate goes to my fund. So, I am asking for your help to raise money for this lift to help me get my wheelchair into my van and keep me from straining my arms to do so.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read through my story. I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving this week.
Our goal has been met! Thank you so much to all who have donated. I really appreciate your generosity and support! Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with Family and Friends! Hers to a great Christmas and New Year! Sincerely, Joe
A big Thank you to all who have donated so far! I was able to get the evaluation for Hand Controls for the new used van. I'm now getting quotes in for the actual install, and it looks like there is enough to cover the hand controls and installation.
Wow were off to a great star! Thank you so much everyone, I appreciate you more than you know!
