LATEST UPDATE! Thank you for your unwavering support! My endometriosis surgery went well, but we received unexpected news: a diagnosis of uterine cancer. For more details, please see the updates section below!
*
For the past two years, Lindy has endured severe and persistent pelvic and bowel pain that has drastically altered her life and left her doctors baffled. After numerous consultations, tests, and treatments, top specialists have diagnosed her with endometriosis and adenomyosis. Lindy’s situation is rare and complex, requiring specialized care because Crohn’s Disease compounds it. She has relentlessly pursued answers from 20 specialists across five states, striving to piece together the complex puzzle of her health.
As the next step in her treatment, her medical team has recommended laparoscopic excision surgery with an expert endometriosis surgeon. Unfortunately, excision surgery is out-of-network due to its highly specialized nature, which in Lindy’s case involves endometriosis potentially on her bowels. Excision surgery is the gold standard for treating endometriosis because it removes the disease at its root. However, the procedure often involves specialized techniques that insurance companies don’t cover, highlighting a significant gap in women’s healthcare. The total cost for the surgery and related expenses is estimated to be $15,000, which includes out-of-network surgeon fees and travel expenses for out-of-state surgery.
In addition to her ongoing pain, Lindy faces daily struggles with an extremely restrictive diet that leaves her at risk for nutritional deficiencies. Her condition could worsen over time if left untreated, making this surgery a crucial next step toward answers. Further treatments will then be explored as needed. Lindy supports herself alone, working two jobs from home day and night, all while managing her medical care and navigating the overwhelming financial burden.Lindy has always been active and adventurous, and she dreams of returning to the activities she loves. The past two years have taught her to find gratitude in small blessings, cherishing moments when she can enjoy short hikes, church community, and astronomy events. With your help, Lindy hopes to regain her health and live her life more fully once again. All funds raised through Help Hope Live will go towards Lindy’s verified medical-related expenses. Any excess funds raised will go towards Lindy’s ongoing care. Your generous support will enable her to access the specialized care she needs. Lindy is immensely grateful for your support and kindness.❤️ ❤️ ❤️

* New Update on My Health Journey * Hello, everyone! My surgery on October 25th for endometriosis was successful, thanks to your incredible support. However, during the procedure, we discovered I had uterine cancer. Although the hysterectomy was considered curative, ongoing medical attention is crucial to ensure there’s no spread or recurrence. This new challenge makes your support even more meaningful. On Giving Tuesday, December 3rd, making a gift is even more impactful since all credit card fees will be waived! Thank you for your continued kindness and encouragement. It fuels my fight and keeps my spirits high! Much love, Lindy XO
Surgery Day: A Milestone Moment
October 25th was a milestone in this journey—a mix of emotions, hope, and gratitude. My sister Lisa helped me through every moment, and the incredible team at Legacy Good Samaritan wrapped me in care and compassion. I drew strength from knowing so many of you were cheering me on! I’ve added a new album, 'Portland: Surgery Day!' with photos capturing this important day. For even more details and snapshots, check out my Facebook post from Oct 27th: Surgery Snapshots
Looking back at October 25th, I’m reminded how your support made this day possible. Thank you for walking this journey with me.
Portland Arrival: The Days Before Surgery
I arrived in Portland on Oct 22nd, settling into my Airbnb and soaking in the city’s beauty in a flurry of pre-surgery errands. My sister Lisa joined me the following night. Her care and support meant the world to me. Setting up my nightstand with reminders of encouragement and love from friends and family brought so much comfort. Photos from this time are in the album 'Portland: Surgery Prep and Recovery'.

This update looks back to the days right before surgery.
Countdown to Surgery: Getting Ready for Portland
The week before my surgery on October 25th was a whirlwind of emotions and logistics. Between packing, organizing, and preparing for an out-of-state operation, I felt both overwhelmed and hopeful. Surgery prep is no small task when juggling two jobs and chronic illness! One of my trusty companions during this chaotic week was 'The Patient's Checklist', a guide to keeping hospital patients on track. I’ve added some fun photos to the 'My Medical Journey' album—trying to find humor in the chaos as the to-do lists piled up. Check out my Facebook post from Oct 17th—it’s a fun read!
Looking back, this update reflects my journey in mid-October as I prepared for surgery in Portland.
Surgery Update: Catching Up on My Journey
Hi everyone! I’m finally catching up here to share everything that’s happened since my surgery on October 25th. Between preparing for surgery, traveling to Portland, and focusing on recovery back in Boise, most updates have been on social media.
Now that I have a bit more energy, I’m excited to bring you up to speed here. Over the next few posts, I’ll be sharing updates that reflect key moments leading up to and following surgery. Thank you for your patience and continued support—it means so much to me!

A friend of mine did the basic ablation surgery (the only version of endometriosis surgery that insurance feels is necessary), & continues to suffer for years from the same recurrent lesions, massive blood clots & ER visits. Excision surgery is the only truly effective way to deal with endometriosis. It's unfortunate that your excision surgery has to come out of pocket. Thousands of women with endometriosis are facing this financial deficit, or are just opting for the incredibly ineffective ablation surgery that often leads to recurrent bouts. Good luck to you!
