The Gonzalez and Rodriguez families are asking for your help in supporting Tommy following a tragic and life-altering event that resulted in the amputation of his legs.
On Thanksgiving morning, Tomas – was involved in a horrific car accident where he tragically lost both of his legs.
This next chapter in life will be a challenging one for both Tommy as he navigates recovery. We have set up this campaign to help Tommy and his family with the financial stress induced by this life changing event. Tommy is loved by so many, and we have seen that so clearly in the vast number of visitors that have come to the hospital and the many people who have reached out to show Tommy and our family love and support over the last week. Thank you all for giving any amount to help Tommy on the road to recovery.
Family and friends of Tomas Gonzalez are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with Catastrophic Injury.
Tomas has chosen to fundraise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors. Contributors can be sure donations will be used to pay or reimburse medical and related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the Give button.

Hello everyone,
Tommy is still in the hospital and working hard every day to get well and heal enough to enter inpatient rehab. His days consist of PT, an appetite that comes and goes, pain medications, and constant care and check-ins from every hospital department. He has had 5 procedures to help heal and wash his wounds from the amputation and bacteria and is hopefully nearing the final stretch of procedures. As a double above the knee (AKA) amputee, Tommy has a long road ahead to rehabilitation and preparation for the use of mobility equipment and prostheses. As can be expected, all of the procedures and operations he has undergone have resulted in some residual internal physical effects and challenged his mental fortitude at times. Tommy has been strong throughout this whole process. We wanted to reach out and thank you all for your generous donations, thoughts, prayers, and continued love during this season.
Tommy will most likely have to spend Christmas in the hospital this year. We will make sure to keep everyone updated with when he will be able to leave the hospital phase behind and get ready to work hard and tirelessly in the inpatient rehabilitation phase. Please continue to keep Tommy, and our entire family in your thoughts and prayers this holiday season and please know Tommy is so grateful for his loved ones during this time. He is sending all his love and hopes everyone has a safe and joyful holiday with their loved ones. Many blessings and love to all!

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to give an update about Tommy and reach out to say thank you again for all of your support.
Tommy remains in the hospital fighting some residual effects from the accident. He's undergone two additional surgeries to reduce infection and quicken his ability to heal and rehabilitate. We are hoping to be in the final stretch of getting Tommy out of the hospital and into an in-patient rehab center so he can begin the road to building the strength and muscles needed to support his mobility, including eventually being fitted for prostheses. Tommy has good days and ok days, but each day is another day closer to having him home with us. We just wanted to give you all an update, and express how in awe we are of the immense love and support we have received since his accident.
If you're interested in visiting Tommy, please reach out to Crysta for information on how to visit. He loves being able to see his family and friends, and it gives him the strength he needs to continue through this journey.
