My name is Hannah Sindaco Bright, my story is long, but I’ll keep it short and since time flies — speed us up to date.
I was born in India and adopted to the USA, arriving in 1978.
My family is amazing and obviously I always knew I was adopted being Indian and they were Italian. I had a great childhood and some hellish teenage years (sorry about that mom and dad). I grew up in Phoenixville, PA right near Valley Forge. My brother, sister, and I were very loved by our parents and gave them some more of their true loves – awesome grandkids.
I am married to Terry Bright who has been amazing throughout this brutal ordeal of receiving a liver transplant.
The deeper stuff – I had always been a social fun drinker it definitely went sideways in a huge way starting mid 2022 until summer of 2023. Besides my dad becoming sick, I was drowning and now know the pandemic had a lot to do with it.
In 2023, I went to rehab, and rehab would send me to the hospital almost immediately. I was in and out of hospital starting the day after Thanksgiving.
In the meantime my dad passed away at age 91, the patriarch of our family. Easily the best father & Pop Pop in the world. My mom was his caregiver, her husband of 56 years. Grief is horrible – I still must address it once I get recovered from my liver transplant. I received it on the 4 month anniversary of his death.
About that transplant …My husband Terry Bright went to war to get me listed as a liver transplant recipient. I received one on February 7th, at Einstein Hospital in Philadelphia.
It’s a long road to recovery, the toll it took on my entire family especially at a tender time is unimaginable.
I am grateful and fortunate to have a strong family and friends support group who have backed me this entire time. I cannot thank them enough! I’m grateful for them all and cannot wait to be back home.
Thank you for listening to my story.
Love,
Hannah Sindaco Bright
