Unfortunately, Adam’s business, Appalachian Bees and Balms has been put on hold since the accident, and he has been cut off from working, volunteering, and socializing in his community. While the insurance settlement covers much of the roughly $80,000 expense, the remaining $35,000 to recertify his high-tech hand controls and purchase a wheelchair-accessible van is still out of reach.
**
Your donation to Help Hope Live In Adam’s honor can make a huge difference in his life and help him return to his work and volunteer efforts. He has partnered with Help Hope Live to raise $7,000 toward the cost of his modifications, and every dollar counts. By donating today, you can help Adam continue positively impacting the world around him and enjoying life with his friends and family.
Please consider clicking the “Give” button to donate and share this message with your friends and family. Together, we can empower Adam to continue defying the odds and giving back to his community. If you’d like to join the effort, please contact him at mallsus2@Gmail.com.

Thank you for your support!
Just got word that I have been approved for a $5000 grant that Ilderton Conversion Company applied for on my behalf. Everything seems to be coming together pretty rapidly now! I am especially thankful to all of you who have shared and donated! This is all coming together because of your support and efforts! Please keep it up we're almost there!
After I'm back on the road, I would really love to have a meet-up with everyone who supported this effort, maybe at GoodTimes Coal-Fired Pizza & Pub In Big Stone.
Please keep sharing and donating as you can! You all are truly making the difference in my access to the world, quality of life and success in Independence!
You all have now made it possible to start taking steps forward! I have a deposit for my next wheelchair-accessible van! The van that was totaled was a 2012. by getting this 2019 with low mileage, I will be saving around $80,000 off of the cost of a new van with new equipment, and will be driving for at least another 10 years!
Thank you so very much for your support! Online and offline donations are now up to $3700! I'm getting very close to the threshold to afford the loan for the remaining costs

Thank You so Much! We're getting very close to the halfway point. Your support is what will make it possible for me to drive again!
Please keep sharing with everyone you can! I appreciate your efforts big and small
About Adam Continued:
Adam enjoys spending time with his friends and family, hanging out at local restaurants, and attending events in his hometown of Big Stone Gap. He is an entrepreneur, gardener, and fierce advocate for bettering his community. 26 years ago, at the age of 13, he became paralyzed from the chest down after falling from a tree in his front yard. In the years since his disability, he has defied expectations by completing high school and college, working and volunteering in community-based nonprofits, and starting a business. Adam has lived independently since 18 years old and began driving at 28.
In recognition of his community’s efforts following his injury, Adam has committed for over 20 years to Pay It Forward through his work and volunteer efforts supporting social, economic, and environmental causes.
“I have always felt called to give back the support I received. After my fall, the school system, businesses, churches, and people of Lee County and Southwest Virginia rallied in support of my family and me. Without that support, I wouldn’t have become as independent. I am very grateful and feel obligated and privileged to honor those efforts however I can.”
Just received my first contribution! Thank you, Sharon. I am so very grateful for your support and your friendship!
