Geoffrey Terrile, Jr. was born May 22, 1991 in Klamath Falls, Oregon to Shannon and Geoffrey Terrile, Sr. At an early age, his mother and father found out he had Cystic Fibrosis. In the early 1990s the prognosis was he wouldn’t make it until age 16. Midway through this period of time, treatment for cystic fibrosis progressed and a new projection of 24 years of age was provided to him. Again, half way through, a new medication was developed and Geoffrey will reach 33 on May 22, 1991.
Geoffrey’s father passed away when he was 11 years old. His mother passed away when he was almost 21 years of age. This left him without any supportive family and he had to move from his hometown of Klamath Falls, Oregon to Muskogee, Oklahoma to receive more intensive and proactive treatment for his cystic fibrosis.
He returned to Klamath Falls on Doctors’ orders in October of 2022. He has since had three major hospitalizations and was referred to a lung transplant list as a last response to assist in meeting the naturally deteriorative and ultimately terminal nature of his illness.
This is exciting news, but the process of a Lung transplant requires many costs that will not be covered by medicare or medicaid. Geoffrey has to move to the Palo Alto, California area after his transplant for three to six months. He will have a friend who must be with him 24 hours a day, seven days a week and will also need assistance with basic household and physical tasks. All of these expenses are well beyond his limited financial means, but through Help Hope Live he can obtain funds from friends and caring individuals to offset those costs.
Given the cost of living in the Palo Alto area and the need to pay local services to assist him, the extensive medications needed after the transplant (20 to 30 a day), and the significant trauma his body will be healing from a realistic need and goal is to raise $100,000. This will cover various in-home services as well as uncovered medicines, cost of living and other necessary expenses.

Receipts are required to be submitted by Geoffrey Terrile, Jr. for the expenses and they are reimbursed only if clearly medically related. Additionally, if any monies are raised that are not utilized specifically for Geoffrey Terrile’s procedure, they are forwarded to others facing significant life-saving medical procedures.
