Rachelle was born with a disability and has used a motorized wheelchair to get around since she was young. She graduated from Messiah College with a BA in Psychology and Evangelical Seminary with a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Currently Rachelle works part-time at Hope Served as an administrative assistant. She is involved in various activities at her church, including planning social events for her Adult Bible Fellowship class. In her free time, Rachelle enjoys reading, spending time with friends and family, meeting up with friends at coffee shops, and going to the beach.
When Rachelle got her first van in 2009, it gave her a new independence. She didn’t have to rely on family and friends to drive her places anymore. Currently she needs a van for work meetings, run errands, various church activities, day trips with friends and family, appointments, and social gatherings.
Rachelle’s current van is 15 years old and is showing signs of wear and tear. Therefore, family and friends of Rachelle are raising funds to help with the purchase of a new van with modified technology. Rachelle has money saved for her new van but purchasing a vehicle like this is quite different than saving for a used car that is in her budget. Due to the high-tech equipment that will be installed, it was recommended that she get a new vehicle. The lengthy process started in June 2023 and is quite expensive. The cost of the modifications is covered but Rachelle needs to pay for the van/chassis. She is hoping to pick up the new van on May 22!
If you would like to help Rachelle with her van expense, you can do so by donating to Help Hope Live in Rachelle’s honor today! Please know that any donations are greatly appreciated and will help to lessen her financial burden. Thank you for your prayers and support.
