Let Pete Cook!

Since birth, Peter has lived with Chronic Kidney Disease, but you wouldn’t know it. With their sociable personality, there are always many people all around, and they are willing to give a helping hand, whether it be close friend or strangers passing. Just starting their life in their early 20s, they’ve had to go from learning to cook to learning their new diet restrictions and memorizing nutrition labels. While awaiting a new kidney, whether it be live donor or not, they have been working at a local Hawaiian food truck. When told the news that they needed to start moving towards a kidney transplant, Peter began to focus on the next steps. As most appointments are at Oregon Health and Science University Hospital, the decision has been made to relocate to make the process easier. Your donations will help them access food accommodations, moving costs, phone bills, and more while going through their transplant journey. We are aiming to make Peter’s life as stress free as possible to ensure good health while awaiting transplant. Peter hopes to return to jobs they enjoy working in kitchens, as well as getting back to walking their dog, going out to concerts again, and overall feeling the relief. They hope to volunteer at local kitchens to give back, when they are healed and given medical permission.

Thank you for your support – every little bit helps! Please share Peter’s story with your friends and family, and ask them to give in their honor.
