Now at the age of 64 Bill had a life changing experience and was airlifted from Rochester, NY to NYC to the ICU fighting for his life living off of a machine with a balloon pump helping his heart. Bill now needs a heart and double lung transplant. He has recently been accepted into the transplant program for a new heart and lungs.
My parents will have to relocate to NYC for 3 months plus. Bill will have to remain in NYC after his surgery to make sure he doesn’t reject any of his organs and for multiple Dr’s appointments.
Any donations will be greatly appreciated to help with my parents relocation for housing, transportation, food and any medical. If you cannot donate please share with your family and friends to get the word out to help.
Thank you,
The Smith Family
I wanted to give everyone an update on Bill. I was in NYC and spent a week with him. He is waiting patiently for a heart and 2 lungs. The Dr.'s said all of Bill's numbers are good, although they had to put Bill on a balloon pump. An intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) is a device that helps your heart pump more blood. You may need it if your heart cannot pump enough blood for your body. Let's keep praying the transplant comes soon for Bill. We appreciate the calls, texts, love, and donations. Please keep them coming. All are greatly appreciated.
Bill was put onto the heart/lungs transplant list on Friday May 17th, 2024!
