MS has taken away Brady’s ability to run, ski, hike, and generally walk distances farther than the front door. His largest issues are an inability to control the left side of his body as well as chronic numbness and pain in various parts of his body. His symptoms have worsened to the point where he must use a wheelchair for longer distances and a cane for shorter distances. These are now necessary to help prevent him from falling and hurting himself which has been happening more frequently. At the prime age of 55, this is just not right! Many of us have seen the progression of this disease, but we have not given up hope!
Brady is going to have the Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant (HSCT) in July, which is not covered by insurance. Multiple Sclerosis is a progressive disease that worsens over time, and if it is not stopped, he very soon will be permanently wheelchair-bound, then eventually bedridden. HSCT will stop the progression in its tracks. The procedure will happen in Puebla, Mexico, and he needs to raise $57,500.00 for the transplant and about $1,500.00 for airfare.
Brady has chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live which assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors. Contributors can be sure the entire sum of donations will be used to pay or reimburse medical and related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the Give button to the left.

My story in the Nevada Appeal: nevadaappeal.com
Wow! Thank you for your off-the-chart contributions to my upcoming chemo/stem-cell adventure in Puebla, Mexico! Do you know why Paul quotes Jesus in the Book of Acts 20:35 saying, "It is more blessed to give than to receive"? It is because receiving is so darn difficult to do. I am humbled to the core, cry often, and have waited way too long to begin to thank everyone for their financial gifts. This is the second most difficult action I have ever undertaken in my life! The first was accepting the fact I could no longer walk well enough to keep using a cane and had to show up at Carson High School with my wheelchair. Accepting help and gifts is an interesting conundrum for me, but I am eternally grateful to you all. Thank you all for your amazing generosity and love. I feel every last drop of it deep in my core.
Read more about HSCT: Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) is a procedure that aims to treat multiple sclerosis (MS) by resetting the immune system. In MS, the immune system mistakenly attacks the protective layer around nerves, called myelin, which disrupts the ability of the nervous system to transmit signals. HSCT works by partially or fully wiping out the immune system and then regrowing it using stem cells. The new immune system is then tolerant and no longer attacks the central nervous system (CNS).
