Hi, my name is Paul. I’m a married 57 year-old father of two, and I have been struggling with kidney failure for a few years now. About two years ago, I started dialysis and quickly went through the process of getting on the wait list for a new kidney in Connecticut, where my wife, Meladee, and I lived for about the last 25 years.
A couple of years ago, our son, Paul John, and daughter, Megan, both moved to Florida. Shortly thereafter, we followed them moving to Florida and eagerly worked to get listed at Tampa General Hospital. Meladee is going to be my living donor and is a match for me (she is an angel!). We’ve both been approved for transplant and we’re working on the details to schedule the transplant.
The problem is we don’t live close to the hospital that would be doing the transplant. Thankfully, I do have insurance, but they do not cover the cost of staying near the hospital before, during, and after the procedure and follow up care. Both my wife and I will have multiple doctor visits leading up to and after the transplant, which will mean we will need to temporarily live closer to the hospital. It will be very difficult to maintain and pay for two households at the same time for several months, and we are unsure how much our medical bills will be.
My entire family would greatly appreciate any help you could provide to us during this time of need. Anything would help, even the smallest of donations would help us to pay for a place to live, the necessities we would need to get by and the medical bills we are going to incur. Please look at your situation, and if you are able to help in any way, please do so!
With everyone’s help, we will all make it through this to the other side of this illness. God Bless everyone and THANKS AGAIN for any help you can provide!
Sincerely,
Paul Ruzbarsky Jr, Meladee Ruzbarsky, and the Ruzbarsky Family

Thank you for your support!
Hello family and friends,We are so happy to share that our kidney transplant has been successful! We recently checked out of our airbnb close to Tampa General Hospital and headed home to Wildwood, FL! We are so thankful and blessed to everyone for their generous support! Our thank cards continue to get mailed to everyone. Paul and I are recovering nicely, taking walks, cooking, doing easy things around the house, and all things considered, feeling good. The doctors tell us we are healing well and everything is going well. Mel's kidney is doing its job in me and I am forever grateful.

I hope and pray for a timely recovery Paul. You\'re a good man and I am sorry you have to endure this procedure. I am happy to see Meladee was a match, she surely is an angel and I know how much she means to you from memories of conversation you had together during the days dug in at Filene\'s. I know it may not be much but I hope it helps. Geth better brotha, you\'ll be in my thoughts and prayers. Sincerely, Ron Jersey
