Dawn was taken completely off the vent today. She is a strong amazing women and determined to get back to her 12 year old son Colton and husband, family, and friends. Her Heart and Lung Transplant teams are amazed at her will power to live and her fight for life, Her and her family have a long recovery head of them. If you could find it in your heart to donate to her campaign and show her that her community she is standing with her, it could make all the difference. We wanted to update all our friends, family and supporter's. Dawn is doing amazingly well after her transplants. She is up, sitting in her bedside recliner, to the amazement of her heart and lung transplant team. She is feeling disappointed with her progress, guess she thinks she should be running the halls after just 1 week of her transplant. She is truly an inspiration to us ALL. And by the grace of GOD she is determined to win this battle.
Third day after receiving her new heart and lungs, by the grace of GOD she is doing great. She has already been standing up and as you can see all smiles.
June 15th 2024 Dawn under went a long 9 hours in the operating room, she received her new heart and both lungs. As of now she is stable, we will keep you posted as she recovers. Once Dawn is released from the hospital she will have to relocate and live within 1 hour of the hospital and have round the clock care for 3 to 6 months. Please help us make this transition as easy as possible on her, on her husband Randall and their 12 year old son Colton. It is a 6 hour drive right now for her family who live in McDowell co. WV. We are is asking for our family, friends and our close knit community to come together and help. Donate to help with these overwhelming medical expenses and out of pocket cost.
After a long battle with severe COPD. On June 10th 2024 Dawn was rushed to the hospital by here husband Randall, to find she was in cardiac arrest. Once she was stable she was then sent to Princeton community hospital in WVa. And from there on to Morgantown WVa. Where they found her to have a whole in her heart and underwent surgery to repair it, but her condition grew worse. She was them transported to UVA in Charlottesville VA. where she was told that, not only did she need a double lung transplant asap but she also needed a heart. Her situation was dire, she had to be placed on life support, She was them transported to Inova Fairfax Medical Campus in Falls Church VA near Washington D.C. She was put on the waiting list for her new organs and in less than 2 weeks she had a match.
