Help Hope Live for Harold Higgins

Family and friends of Harold Higgins are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation. It is difficult for Harold to ask for help. He is always the one to step up. I met Harold 22 years ago and the first time he had a special place in my heart. He was the strongest man I knew, both physically and head & heart. I have heard his stories of how he would build motors, take none working cars and turn them inrto race cars. When his friends would have problems with their cars he would help fix it and maybe even teach them some along the way. He really seems to love teaching others, helping ground hands to become linemen, CDL instructor to just helping Drivers park in a very hard space. This is the hardest part of his Liver going bad. He is a hard working man, never shying away from anything. I have seen the light in his eyes get dim, losing his muscles and energy taking away the ability to help. We never thought this kind of thing would happen. I am hoping when he is able to get a Transplant he can get his life back. This is why Harold has chosen to fundraise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors. Contributors can be sure donations will be used to pay or reimburse medical and related expenses. On Oct. 7th, Harold went for a follow up MRI to check his Liver and to see if any changes to the lesion that the last MRI found. There wasn't any change that I read in the report or anything in the bloodwork. I had asked the Transplant Coordinator if there had been any movement in Harold's number on the list. He was number 12. With no changes and the place on the list we thought it would be after the first of the year before he would get that call. Well, at 6PM on Oct 21st, we got a call from Barnes with an offer of a Liver. If you ever question if God is there, HE IS. The whole process has been one miracle after another. I truly believe in the Power of Prayer and have had to see it at work for a second time. In taking care of Harold post op, I have shared his story and the blessing he recieved with others and it's an incredible experience to get the goosies at the same time with someone you just met. Thank you all who have taken the time to read our story.
