We are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live in my honor, to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with Catastrophic Illness for people in the Southwest Region fighting catastrophic illness, including Alexandria. We have chosen to fundraise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors. Contributors can be sure donations will be used to pay or reimburse medical and related expenses. I’m a devoted mother to my beautiful 1-year-old son, Ezra.Earlier this year, I was diagnosed with a rare and high-risk form of cancer, and ever since, my world has turned upside down. This past year has been a whirlwind of medical appointments, major surgery with multiple complications, hospital stays, biopsies, scans—you name it. My husband and I are still trying to come to terms with this reality, especially since we had just started our family and dreamed of growing it even more.On top of the emotional and physical toll of cancer, we’re also grappling with the difficult reality of the financial toll that comes with cancer treatment. Even through insurance, we are faced with high copays and deductibles that reset every year. In addition to the targeted therapies recommended by my Oncologist, I am exploring naturopathic cancer treatments that could provide a chance at recovery, but these treatments are considered experimental and the cost is entirely out-of-pocket. There are several out-of-network doctors and specialists who have been recommended for second opinions and treatments, which have no insurance coverage due to being out-of-network.This means even more out-of-pocket for expenses we can’t afford alone. The financial strain of fighting cancer is immense. I have hope that I will beat the odds and that we can prevent the cancer from spreading or recurring. The high-risk nature of my diagnosis means we can’t afford to cut corners. Yet, it’s heartbreaking to realize that financial barriers limit access to the care that could improve outcomes and give me more time with my family. This is why we’re asking for your help. Every donation will go toward covering these life-saving treatments, medical costs, and the naturopathic therapies that might give us a chance to beat the odds. Ezra deserves a healthy mama, and I deserve the chance to see him grow up.We need help to give our family hope for the future. If you’re able to contribute, please know that your kindness and generosity will make an incredible difference in our lives.Help Hope Live is a nonprofit that is supporting my fundraising efforts by allowing your donation towards my medical expenses to be a tax deduction. They also help handle the money donated and disburse the funds to go directly towards the payments of my medical expenses. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading my story and for any support you can give, whether it’s through a donation or simply sharing our cause with others, it is so much appreciated!I would love to host some fundraisers to meet our fundraising goals, if you have the heart to help us with these efforts, please reach out to [email protected] you for your generous support! With gratitude, Alexandria (Ezra’s Mommy)
