Dear Friends and Family,
DeMario McCray is a courageous man and a father of two children (ages three and eight). For many years, DeMario has been living with a deteriorating kidney condition and as a result, he was diagnosed with end stage renal failure. He is now undergoing dialysis several times a week, but his doctors at the Cleveland Clinic have told us that DeMario’s only shot at a long and healthy life is a kidney transplant.
Aside from the struggle with this disease, DeMario also has the burden of on-going medical bills and prescription medication costs. Despite these obstacles, his determination and fight for life are incredibly admirable and encouraging to his fiancé Tawana, his daughter Janiyah and his son Jameer. DeMario’s faith, and the support and prayers of others have kept him firmly focused on survival. However, funding this transplant is a challenge DeMario cannot meet without your help.
Transplantation is life-saving, but also extremely expensive. Even with insurance, there are many out-of-pocket expenses, including co-pays and deductibles, doctor visits, travel to and from the transplant center, and the costly anti-rejection medications DeMario will have to take for the rest of his life.

To help offset these uninsured costs, a fundraising campaign in DeMario’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive (formerly NTAF), a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for nearly 30 years. All contributions are tax deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Great Lakes Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. You can help make a difference in DeMario’s life. Please consider making a contribution.Thank you for any help you can give,

The McCray Family
