I have some good news that I wanted to share with all of you today. On August 3, 2010 Robert received his second chance at life — his kidney transplant. I am pleased to report that he is doing well. You may remember that Robert is fifty-seven- years-old and the wonderful husband of Melody, whom he has been happily married to for twenty-nine years. They have three sons — Garrett, a junior in high school, Gavin, a sophomore and Kasey, who will graduate from 8th grade in the spring. Robert also has two grown children, Justin and Karlie, who live in Salt Lake City, UT and are the proud parents of Robert’s seven grandchildren. Robert has lived in Flagstaff for over twenty years and at one time was the owner of R & M Trucking.

Several years ago, Robert was diagnosed with kidney disease. His illness progressed to the point where his doctors have told him that the only way for him to live a long and healthy life would be to have a kidney transplant. He was evaluated at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix and was found to be an excellent candidate for the surgery. At the time of these evaluations, the transplant team at Mayo strongly suggested that Robert and his family consider fundraising as he would have many uninsured expenses following the procedure.
