01/31/13 Update from @HelpHOPELiveorg: Sean McGonagle will help deliver the ceremonial first chicken Feb.1 @WIPWingBowl 21 @WellsFargoCtr, raising awareness 4 HelpHOPELive. Listen to a recent interview with Sean on WIP.

Dear Family, Friends and Supporters,
We are writing to you today on behalf of our son and brother Sean McGonagle. On December 23, Sean was a victim of a senseless crime. He was shot in the leg and the chest. He survived, spent 5 weeks in the ICU and was at Magee Rehabilitation Hospital for three months and continues outpatient rehab. Sean has been home since April and has been trying to gain some independance and routine. Throughout, Sean’s spirits and attitude have remained high. You can see in his eyes that he truly wants nothing more than to LIVE. He is a TRUE INSPIRATION to his doctors, nurses, family, and friends.
Currently, there are a lot of unknowns with some of Sean’s conditions, but we do know he has a C-6 injury to his spinal cord and is paralyzed from the chest down. Sean is a fighter and is determined to rehabilitate and live the best life he can through the support of family and friends.
To help with the cost of uninsured medical expenses and recovery-based therapies, a fundraising campaign in Sean’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive (formerly NTAF), a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for nearly 30 years. In 2000, they expanded their mission to include those who have sustained catastrophic injuries. All contributions are tax deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Mid-Atlantic Spinal Cord Injury Fund, and are administered by HelpHopeLive for injury-related expenses only. Please consider helping Sean realize his dream of an active life by contributing to his HelpHOPELive fundraising campaign.Your support is crucial! A fundraising committee has been formed and we are planning several exciting and fun events. Any ideas or help you can give is welcome!
