Erin and Randy were married less than 3 years when they moved to Twin Falls, Idaho to build their life together, near her large and loving family. Soon after starting a new job, Erin was hospitalized. Her diagnosis revealed that she urgently needed a liver transplant, due to an autoimmune condition she didn’t know she had. Erin was transported to a hospital in Utah that specializes in this. Miraculously, a liver became available very quickly and she had the transplant.Erin is one of the nicest, most loving people you could meet. She cares deeply about her family and friends and of course, her husband Randy. She has a great sense of humor, a wonderful laugh, and is so much fun to be around. She’s also very smart and has progressed in the medical related field she’s been working in for the last few years. The day after Erin was hospitalized, Randy moved their belongings into a new apartment they had leased. With Erin having to live in Utah to wait for the transplant and for 6 weeks after (for close monitoring), they had to break the lease just days later (with Erin never having lived there). Since Erin had not been employed very long, her job was not protected under FMLA and she was let go. She can keep her medical insurance but must pay the full cost through COBRA.Erin’s transplant surgery went well, but 2 days later she was back in surgery to remove some blood clots that impaired her breathing. A little more than a week after the transplant, Erin was released from the hospital to the little guesthouse her mom rented for the 2 of them (Erin must have someone with her constantly) to stay in until she’s released to go home to Idaho. Three days later, Erin was back in the hospital due to issues with her heart and kidney function. After more tests and adjustments to her medications, she’s back in the guesthouse. We are fundraising to help Erin cover the costs of medical bills not covered by insurance, the cost of COBRA medical insurance, medications, and the additional expenses for living in Utah for her after care.Erin is looking forward to being in good health again, returning to work and normal life. She and Randy are eager to get settled in a place of their own, and to making new memories. Please donate to Help Hope Live in Erin’s honor today and ask your family and friends to give too! Erin has chosen to fundraise with the nonprofit, in part because donations are tax deductible for contributors and will only be used to cover medical and related expenses. Thank you so much for your generous support!
