BRITTANY NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT!Brittany is a 38-year old wife to Trevor and mom to Liya (13) and Decker (11). She was diagnosed with Lupus at age 17 and within two years had class III kidney disease. She struggled to get her disease into remission and keep her kidney function stable for fifteen years. Her lupus went into remission in 2013 but unfortunately the damage done to her kidneys could not be reversed, and in 2020 her kidneys finally failed. She’s been on dialysis for four years and has now been approved for a kidney transplant. She’s currently waiting for a kidney to become available. Since her kidney failure diagnosis, Brittany has found a passion for helping those that suffer. She continues to work part time with home health and hospice patients. In her free time, Brittany enjoys family activities with her husband and children. They particularly love anything having to do with nature or animals! She also loves traveling and showing her children new places, although her favorite place will always be Disney World!Living with kidney failure has been difficult for Brittany. She has to do dialysis every night and has so many doctor’s appointments that it’s impossible to work a full-time job. She has catheters and ports implanted into her body and has had to learn to care for those at home. Everything requires thought and planning; something as simple as what is for lunch becomes complicated when your kidneys can’t filter out toxins!Brittany is raising funds to help cover the costs of relocating closer to her transplant center, since she will have to stay nearby for six weeks after being discharged. She also may have copayments for the surgery and would like to cover any out-of-pocket expenses that her donor may have if she finds one. After her transplant, Brittany will need to take several anti-rejection medications that can be very costly, and she hopes to raise enough funds to cover the costs of those for the first few months, while she’s out of work. Brittany hopes that a kidney transplant will give her more freedom to make memories with her family.Without the complications that come from dialysis, she would have more energy to do everything she wants to do. But most importantly, Brittany hopes that a transplant will help her to live long enough to see her daughter become a mother and her son become a marine. Please donate to Help Hope Live in Brittany’s honor, (Click the GIVE Button) and please share this campaign with your friends and family! For information on fundraisers or to help organize a fundraiser, please contact her mother, Sheri Decker, at [email protected]. Thank you so much for your generosity!

How do we go about finding out if we might be a donor match
Lucinda Williams
When I think of bravery, you come to mind. The courage you have to face all that comes your way is not only amazing but inspiring! These many years of fighting to survive have been filled with mountains that seemed unsurmountable but they have also brought to light several miracles -- you are a miracle. Your life journey is just beginning because a donor will see to that for you and your precious young children. Dare to dream for those dreams will come true!! All my love to you, my very own miracle.
