Dear Friends and Family,
Many of you know my loving husband of 23 years, Scott McKinley. Scott is the wonderful father of Shawn, Amanda, and Lesa, fun grandfather of our 5 grandchildren and good friend to many. Scott enjoys working and riding motorcycles.
In 1999 Scott was diagnosed with hepatitis C. A few years ago he was diagnosed with Cirrhosis of the liver. His health has continued to decline and unfortunately he is no longer able to do many of the things he has always done and wants to do. Scott’s doctors at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital have told us that his only option now is a life-saving liver transplant.
Not only is a transplant major surgery, it is also very expensive. We have come to realize that funding this surgery is a monumental task. Even with insurance there are many expenses that must be paid out of pocket. Some of these are co-pays, deductibles and Scott will be on a life-time of expensive anti-rejection medications. This is where your help is desperately needed.
In order to ease the financial burden, a fundraising campaign in Scott’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the South-Central Liver Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. Please consider making a contribution:For more information, please contact HelpHOPELive at 800.642.8399.

On behalf of Scott, myself and our family we thank you for your kindness, generosity and prayers.

I know what you are going through. I experienced it with my husband John. Keep the faith...its in God's hands and he has plans for you. Have strength and faith and hope. It will work in your favor. God bless, your Aunt Deedee in Christ.

I know what its like to go through this process! It is the most challenging roller coaster ride but it has now turned from a sickness to a lifestyle. I pray for you every day because I know what you are all going through having lived this once. Keep your head up and just remember we love you.

Love always,
The Mckinleys <3
