Family and friends of Kimberly Andrews are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with a Catastrophic Illness. Kimberly has chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because donations are tax deductible for contributors and will only be used to cover medical and related expenses.
Hi my name is Kimberly, Kimmie to my friends and family.
In 2019, my life changed when I underwent surgery to implant a baclofen pump to help manage my Multiple Sclerosis. At the time, I hoped the procedure would help stabilize my symptoms and give me the best chance of maintaining my mobility. Instead, the years since have been a constant fight for my legs and my independence.
Years earlier, in 2012, my family lost my father to ALS. Watching someone you love suffer from a devastating neurological disease leaves a permanent mark. When I was later diagnosed with MS, the memory of what my father endured created a deep fear about what the future might hold. But it also strengthened my determination to keep fighting for every bit of mobility and independence I can.
During one of the most difficult periods of my illness, my marriage fell apart and I was left without the support I needed while trying to care for my three boys and manage a progressive disease. It was a painful chapter, but my children have always been my reason to keep going.
For several years I lived in Utah while navigating life with MS and doing my best to rebuild stability for my family. In 2024, I made the decision to return home to Oklahoma to be closer to my roots and the support systems I needed.
Today I live in Oklahoma with my dog, Okie, who rarely leaves my side. Mobility is a daily challenge, and I rely on a scooter to get around, but I continue to fight for my legs and my independence.
Even in the middle of this journey, I hold tightly to moments of joy. Recently, I went to the Promenade with my youngest son and danced with him—something that reminded me that even with MS, life still holds beautiful moments worth fighting for.
My journey hasn’t been easy, but it has taught me resilience and the importance of community. With support, I hope to continue pursuing the treatments, adaptive equipment, and resources that will allow me to maintain as much independence and quality of life as possible while living with MS.

I know it isn't but but I also know how hard it is when your body betrays you at such a young age. You are in my prayers. Keep up the good fight.
