Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters,
My name is Kareem Proctor, though many know me as “Prock.” I’m writing to you not just to ask for help, but to share a piece of my heart and a journey that’s shaped every part of who I am today.
In 2014, a violent attack changed my life in an instant. I was preparing to join the Baltimore City Fire Department—excited to serve my city and start a new chapter. Instead, I faced a spinal cord injury that forced me onto an entirely different path, one I never expected but have met with resilience, faith, and purpose.
Since then, I’ve leaned into every role I can still fill—with love and determination: as a father, mentor, coach, and most recently, an aspiring comedian. Comedy became more than just an outlet; it became a form of therapy. It’s how I process pain, connect with others, and spread healing—one laugh at a time. I believe in laughter’s power to open hearts, spark hope, and remind us that joy is still possible, even in the darkest moments.
Right now, I’m asking for your help as I work to reclaim more of my independence and continue my healing journey. I’m raising funds for critical medical and rehabilitation needs—including a wheelchair-accessible vehicle, a manual wheelchair, exercise equipment, and in-home therapy. These tools are more than just equipment—they are my bridge to mobility, health, and freedom.
So I have chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because donations are tax deductible for contributors and will only be used to cover medical and related expenses.
Your support, in any form, brings me closer to living the life I’m still building—one filled with meaning, service, and the drive to uplift others. Thank you for standing with me, believing in my story, and helping me continue turning adversity into purpose.
With deep gratitude,
Kareem “Prock” Proctor
