Family and friends of Catherine Park are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with a Transplant. Catherine has chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because donations are tax deductible for contributors and will only be used to cover medical and related expenses.
As many of you know, 13 years Catherine was diagnosed with a chronic progressive kidney disease. Although we knew that she would inevitably need dialysis and to be on a transplant list, it did take us by surprise when her lab work came back indicating now is the time.Cat spent a week in the hospital this past November, and has now been receiving dialysis three times a week since then. We were blessed that she was admitted to the floor that she works on, and that the nurses and staff took such good care of her. She is just in the beginning of the transplant process, which could take years. While it is great to have insurance, there are many things that have not and will not be covered, so this fundraiser will be for medical expenses, and costs related to dialysis and eventual kidney transplant until that hope becomes a reality.Thank you for supporting our girl on this challenging journey.
