Geri is a devoted mother and cherished family member. She has been an advocate for organ donation for decades, and, in fact, is a living organ donor, having selflessly donated a kidney in February 1992. Sadly, now her one remaining kidney is failing. In May 2016 she was diagnosed with Secondary Non-Segmental Focal Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS). Currently, she is living with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) Stage IV and finds herself in need of a life-saving kidney transplant.
Geri is facing dialysis and a shortened life expectancy because of her disease.
On a fixed income, she is confronting the costs of this impending operation: thousands of dollars for coinsurances, copays, travel expenses, pre-op medications for her kidney disease, post-op anti-rejection meds for life, as well as unknown costs.
This surgery will restore her health and her spunk and will give her the same second chance at life that she unselfishly gave to another when she donated an organ. By defraying the costs through fundraising for the operation and her care she and her family can focus on health and healing, rather than the anxiety of associated medical expenses. Please click on the link for her campaign to donate and share with others to help Geri and others in her position.
Your support is vital, and your donation can help to make her experience a success.
Family and friends of Geri Baiocchi are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with a Transplant. Geri has chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because donations are tax deductible for contributors and will only be used to cover medical and related expenses.

Hello, Followers.Did you know February 14th (Valentine's Day) is National Donor Day? While it is a day to recognize and encourage organ donation, it is also a great day to kick off our fundraising campaign for Geri with monetary donations. The journey begins... Geri is a devoted mother and cherished family member. She has been an advocate for organ donation for decades, and, in fact, is a living organ donor, having donated a kidney in February 1992. Geri is a dynamo. In addition to being loving, giving, and generous, she is feisty, fun and fearless. Her favorite place is near the water, poolside or beside the ocean. She loves to listen to music, watch movies and enjoys puzzles, games and crafting, along with every shade of blue. She is an animal lover and especially has a soft spot for dogs and horses. You won’t catch her turning down any chance for her favorite meals of soup or ravioli. And cooking is a passion of hers, and she often shows her affection by creating homemade meals for her loved ones; her family is her everything. As she has suffered these many years with kidney disease, her lack of energy often sidelines her from participating in activities and events with friends and family. She has also had to deal with some food restrictions due to her condition so as not to aggravate her circumstances or have these foods counteract with medications. Geri is facing dialysis and a shortened life expectancy because of her disease. On a fixed income, Geri is confronting the costs of this impending operation: thousands of dollars for coinsurances, copays, travel expenses, pre-op medications for her kidney disease and post-op anti-rejection meds for life. There are also unknown costs for aftercare, even over-the-counter items associated with monitoring, testing and costs not covered by Medicare. This life-saving surgery will restore her health and her spunk and will give her the same second chance at life that she unselfishly gave to another when she donated an organ. By defraying the costs through fundraising for the operation and her care she and her family can focus on health and healing, rather than the anxiety of associated medical costs. Geri will be able to enjoy her life without exhaustion and be more present for those around her, as she always has been. During this journey and her recovery, she will continue to advocate for both donors and recipients of organ transplants. Please click on the link for her campaign to donate and share with others to help Geri and others in her position.Years ago, Geri selflessly donated a kidney to another; now she needs a new kidney of her own. Please help. Your support is vital to Geri’s life-saving transplant surgery. Your donation can help to make her experience a success.
