We are writing on behalf of Vince Mellish. He is 66 years old, a great husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He is a gentle soul who is loved and cherished by many. He has worked the majority of his life in the construction industry; a field which he is incredibly passionate about.
Vince’s full and happy life took a detour on October 15, 2010 when he was diagnosed with bone cancer, specifically Multiple Myeloma. It is a serious blood-bone related cancer for which there is no current cure. He is need of a stem cell transplant which is scheduled to take place in May, 2011. The recovery process can take up to one year. It is his one shot at a healthy future.
Vince is fortunate to have insurance but there are many uninsured medical and relocation expenses that Vince and his wife Penny will face. At a time like this, the support of family and friends is critical to ensure a successful recovery. We are asking for your help in Vince’s fight for his life.
A fundraising campaign has been established with HelpHOPELive to help with this financial burden. HelpHOPELive is a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for more than 25 years. Any help you can give will get Vince one step closer to feeling well enough to realize his dream of taking his grandson fishing for the first time. Your tax-deductible contribution would be greatly appreciated.
For more information, please contact HelpHOPELive at 800-642-8399.
Thanks for your support, prayers, and generosity!
