Help Hope Live for Sarah Dunn

Sarah is a 63 year old beloved mother and granny. She has always been known for her vibrant and independent spirit. In 2022, she was diagnosed with a fibroid lung disease that has slowed her down quite a bit. Sarah has always had a resilient spirit and continues to live life to the fullest. Unfortunately, this disease is progressive and without a lung transplant is terminal. Fortunately, she has recently passed transplant screening with flying colors! She is now on the list for a new pair of lungs.

Sarah’s mom used to say that she “should have been born with wheels on her” because this woman likes to go! She has always loved traveling, riding horses and working outside. She values experiences and treasures sharing them with her children and grandchildren. This procedure can give her several more healthy years to do these things she holds dear.

I was recently listed on UNCs’ lung transplant list for a Double Lung transplant. I have Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis possibly caused by reflux. But they honestly have no idea what caused the fibrosis/scarring.of my lungs but it is untreatable and terminal. My only chance for living is the lung transplant. It is becoming quite expensive and will continue to be for the rest of my life even after transplant I will be on a lot of medication and require frequent medical procedures and anti rejection medication for the rest of my life. Thank you in advance for any donations. They are tax deductible and can only be used for medical expenses.

Sarah,
You mean so much to so many. Your heart is so warm, welcoming, and loving, and I'll never forget the kindness you gave me all those years ago in college, and how you will continue to share your love and kindness with the rest of the world. I hope you get a fresh set of lungs soon so you can breathe better and keep leaving your impact on everyone lucky enough to know you. Sending you so much love and healing.
