Dan’s Fight for Recovery and a Second Chance

On what should have been just another fun night out with friends, Dan—a 30-year-old loving husband and hardworking member of the Mount Laurel, NJ community—had his life forever changed.

The Dan We Know and Love

Dan’s life has always been built on strength—both in body and in spirit. Prior to his injury, he dedicated countless hours to the gym, training with the goal of competing in a Strongman competition.

Beyond his physical strength, it’s Dan’s heart that has always been his greatest force. When fate delivered three tiny kittens to his back doorstep, Dan mustered up the kind of patience only a tender heart can in order to earn their trust. After months of quiet devotion and whispered reassurances, Cosmo, Comet, and Phoebe became his beloved companions, no longer strays but cherished family. He has missed them greatly during his time in the hospital.

Dan can talk for hours about his raggedy, loud 2003 Toyota Sequoia—the car he bought, tinkered with, and loves like an old friend. He wears short sleeves as soon as it hits 40 degrees outside. If a bird flew by, as an avid bird watcher, Dan would make you stop and admire it. He is never known to turn down a craft beer, a dive bar, or a good day drink. And Sundays? Those belong to the Philadelphia Eagles, no exception.

More than anything, Dan is someone who always shows up for the ones he loves. He is always ready for a deep conversation, always willing to listen, and always there with advice if you need it.

What Hasn’t Changed

He’s still a cat dad. He’s still not leaving the TV after kickoff. He’ll still make you stop and appreciate a cardinal in the trees. And with his unwavering determination and the support of those who love him, we believe we’ll see him behind the wheel of that old Sequoia again.

In spite of everything—we still very much have Dan.

Praying you stay strong in the face of this senseless tragedy. May the Lord renew your strength and use this evil for good. May you grow ever closer to Christ through your suffering and do great things for the Kingdom.
