*Family and friends of Matt Davis are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with a liver and kidney transplant. Matt has chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because donations are tax deductible for contributors and will only be used to cover medical and related expenses.*
As many of you know, Matt has had many medical issues throughout the years. Within the past few months, he has spent most days in Gainseville at UF Shands getting evaluated for a double transplant. He now needs a new liver, as well as a kidney. Matt is currently in the hospital in Gainseville and will stay admitted there on continuous 24/7 dialysis until he can receive the transplants. Any donations made to Help Hope Live in his honor will be held in a secured account and will be allocated to any MEDICAL expenses needed before, during, or even after the transplants. Your donation will not go unappreciated.
Thoughts & prayers are also VERY much appreciated for not only Matt, but also his family during this stressful time in our lives. Thank you to everyone!
Matt found a match for both liver and kidneys. He was supposed to receive them today (April 8, 2025). Unfortunately, at the last minute, the doctors decided the liver was no good. This is what they call a dry run, you never know how bad or good of shape the organs are in until you test them. Just because it’s a match, doesn’t mean they are healthy. Now we are patiently waiting for another HEALTHY match! Thank you to all of you who have donated. It is very much appreciated & Matt sends his love!
