Many of you know our loving son Greg Belk. He is a lifelong resident of Riviera Beach and graduated from Suncoast High School. He belongs to St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church in West Palm Beach where he was an Acolyte and a member of the youth group.
What you may not know is that for the past 28 years, Greg has been an insulin-dependent diabetic. Unfortunately, his health has deteriorated to the point that he is no longer able to work and do many of things he used to enjoy.
Greg’s doctors at Shands Transplant Center at the University of Florida have told us that his only option now is a life-saving kidney/pancreas transplant. Not only is a transplant major surgery, it is also very expensive. Even with insurance there are many expenses that must be paid out of pocket. Some of these are co-pays, deductibles, travel to and from the transplant center, relocation at time of transplant and he will be on a life-time of expensive anti-rejection medications. This puts us up against a challenge that we cannot meet alone and desperately need your help.
To help defray his uninsured medical expenses, a fundraising campaign in Greg’s
honor has been established with HelpHOPELive (formerly NTAF), a nonprofit
organization that has been assisting the transplant community for nearly 30 years.
All donations are tax deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Southeast Kidney/Pancreas Transplant Fund and are administered by HelpHOPELive for
