Meet Elly – our vibrant, funny, and resilient 14-year-old daughter who lights up every room she enters. Elly lives with Prader-Willi Syndrome, a rare and complex genetic disorder that affects nearly every part of her life — from her mobility and muscle tone to her ability to regulate hunger and emotions.
Despite these challenges, Elly is our sunshine and is fiercely determined, and gives the best hugs in the world. She loves music, dancing in her wheelchair, she also loves watching and hearing other kids play, and watching the world go by from the window. She dreams of exploring the outdoors, visiting family and friends and going on vacation to see her Sissy. But as she grows, so do her needs and right now, our home and transportation are not suitable for her needs
We live in a home that was never built for someone with a wheelchair, and we are unable to do modifications to. There are narrow doorways, hallways, and a small, non-accessible bathroom make everyday tasks not only hard but dangerous. Due to unforeseen circumstances the only vehicle we had became no longer road worthy. As she grows into her teen years, her needs are changing, and our ability to meet them without the proper tools is disappearing.
That’s why we’re asking for your help.
We are raising funds for two essential things:
1. A wheelchair-accessible van that would allow us to transport EllyAnnah safely to doctor’s visits, therapy, and even fun outings she longs to experience.
2. accessible upgrades to a new home – we’re imagining EllyAnnah rolling freely through the rooms of a home where she can explore and grow her independence!
This isn’t just about accessibility. It’s about giving our daughter a life where she can thrive, not just survive. A life where she can roll into her own bedroom without complications and struggling with maneuvering her wheelchair. Where she can shower easier without having to have 2 people to lift her from her wheelchair and place her in the bathtub. A life where she can go on vacation to see her sister who currently lives in Nebraska, and uncles who lives in Indiana.
Your donation no matter how big or small will help us bring EllyAnnah closer to a life full of freedom, comfort, and joy. Every dollar is a step toward giving her what every child deserves: a safe, loving space where she can be herself.
Thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting our family. You’re helping Elly roll forward with hope. Thank You All for being a part of EllyAnnah’s journey. From the bottom of our hearts, we’re grateful
We will be doing T-shirt and tote sales as well to help
