Drew is a vibrant, 16-year-old multi-sport athlete who has spent his life in motion—on the football field, basketball court, lacrosse turf, and ski slopes.
His energy, determination, and infectious spirit have always made him a force on and off the field. But on March 1st, 2025, everything changed. While skiing with friends, Drew suffered a catastrophic spinal cord injury, shattering his C5 vertebrae and leaving him a quadriplegic. In a single moment, the life he knew was turned upside down.
Just weeks before the accident, Drew was skiing through the mountains of Switzerland, gearing up for his spring lacrosse and fall football seasons and just being a normal teenager, hanging out with friends. Less than a year earlier, Drew had faced another unthinkable challenge—the loss of his father, Drew’s role model and inspiration for his love of adventure and being active, after a short battle with cancer.
This past year has tested Drew and his family in every way imaginable, something no one should ever have to endure. But through it all, Drew remains Drew—resilient, funny, kind, and fiercely determined. He’s the kid who lifts up everyone around him. Now, it’s our turn to lift him up. Drew is fighting every day to regain strength and independence. His road to recovery is long and demanding, filled with intense rehab, adaptive equipment, and specialized care.
The financial burden is overwhelming—therapy, travel, specialized exercise equipment, home and car modifications, and medical expenses add up quickly. This is where you come in. Our family and friends are raising money through the nonprofit organization, Help Hope Live, on behalf of Drew to fund uninsured medical and many other significant expenses associated with a Catastrophic Injury.
We have chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because donations are tax deductible for contributors and will only be used to cover medical and related verified expenses.
