Meet Arlo — a sweet, silly, and deeply loved little boy who’s been living with STXBP1-DEE, intractable epilepsy, and cerebral palsy since birth. Though he faces many challenges every single day, Arlo’s spirit shines bright. He may not be able to speak, but his expressions say it all — especially the hilarious “look” he gives when he doesn’t want to do something in therapy.
Arlo loves his pets (Marnie, Griffey, Hambino, and a lively flock of chickens), music, and spending time with his brothers (Elliott & Bode) — happily taking in the joyful chaos they bring. He’s snuggly, observant, and loves to feel part of the action, whether it’s playing his version of peekaboo or watching trees sway on family walks.
Because Arlo depends completely on his parents and his amazing nursing staff for daily care, transportation has become increasingly difficult. He’s now outgrown all the car seats on the market, as well as his adaptive medical stroller. Arlo has now upgraded to a pediatric wheelchair that does not fit into the family mini van, so because of this they are now raising funds for an adaptable wheelchair van — one that will allow Arlo to travel safely and comfortably, and to join his family for every activity and adventure again.
Having this van will give Arlo the ability to experience the world alongside his family and no longer need to miss out — to laugh, explore, and be part of life’s simple joys that bring him so much happiness. Most importantly, Arlo can be with his brothers who he loves to spending time with..
You can help make that possible. First and foremost, please keep Arlo in your prayers. If you’re able, a donation toward this fundraiser will bring Arlo one step closer to the freedom and inclusion he deserves. Every bit helps — thank you for supporting Arlo and his family on this journey toward a more accessible, joy-filled life.
