Christine has spent her life helping others breathe a little easier.
As an elementary school teacher, she is the person who ties shoelaces, wipes away tears, celebrates small victories, and makes every child feel safe and seen. Her classroom has always been a place of patience, warmth, and encouragement—a place where young lives learn to grow.
Now, Christine is fighting for the chance to keep breathing herself.
Christine needs a double lung transplant, a life-saving procedure that offers hope—but also comes with overwhelming medical and financial challenges. Due to the severity of her illness, she is currently unable to work, focusing all her strength on surviving and preparing for a transplant.
While insurance helps cover a portion of medical care, many essential costs are not fully covered. This fundraiser exists to help bridge that gap so Christine can focus on healing, not bills.
Your support will help cover:
Medical co-pays, deductibles, and coinsurance
New and ongoing medications, including anti-rejection drugs
Physical therapy and pulmonary rehabilitation
Home health care after surgery
Critical medical equipment and supplies, such as medical-grade air purifiers, replacement filters, UV light sanitation, personal protective equipment (PPE), and other infection-prevention tools
Possible home modifications, if deemed medically necessary
Housekeeping services, as she must be in a dust-free, sterile environment
Daily living expenses, including housing, food, and necessities while she is unable to work (Please consider donating to the GoFundMe campaign for Christine – https://gofund.me/566665e35 for these expenses, as Help, Hope, Live will not disperse raised funds for daily living expenses)
A lung transplant is not just one surgery—it’s a long road of recovery, rehabilitation, and lifelong medical care. The environment Christine returns home to must be exceptionally clean and safe to protect her new lungs and give her the best chance at a successful recovery.
Christine has always shown up for others—her students, her school community, her loved ones. Now, she needs her community to show up for her.
Family and friends of Christine Hunsberger-Falconio are raising money for her through the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund these expenses. Christine has chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because donations are tax-deductible for contributors and will be used only to cover medical and related expenses.
Every donation, share, and message of support brings Christine one step closer to breathing freely again and returning to the life she loves. If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser means more than you know.
Thank you for helping give Christine the most precious gift of all: time, breath, and hope. 💙
