In February 2026, Stephen Nangeroni was injured in a high-speed ski accident that left him with three fractures in his spine and a severe spinal cord injury. He underwent emergency surgeries to stabilize his spine and is now in a rehabilitation hospital in Boston, beginning what will be a long and challenging recovery.
Currently, he is paralyzed from the waist down and has limited use of his hands.
Originally a native of the Boston area, Stephen lived in New York City for 9 years before moving west to Los Angeles, which he has called home since 2021. He loves traveling, playing music, spending time in the great outdoors, and visiting family and friends near and far. We want to get Stephen back to these activities as soon as we can!
While Stephen has a long road to recovery ahead, he has brought his usual strength, resilience, and positivity to these first several weeks and we know that will continue. Family and friends of Stephen are raising money on his behalf for the nonprofit Help Hope Live for him to use for uninsured medical expenses associated with his injury. They have chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because donations are tax deductible for contributors.
All funds raised will help Stephen with the significant expenses associated with his recovery and adjustments to life with limited mobility, including: medical expenses, equipment and supplies, rehab and physical therapy, home health care and accessibility modifications, assistive technologies, and more.
We are incredibly grateful for the love and support our family has already received. Every donation—no matter the size—will directly support Stephen’s recovery and future.
Thank you for any and all donations and support that you can offer for Stephen.
Love,
The Nangeroni Family
