Dear Friends and Family,
As many if you already know, my husband Gary is in stage 4 kidney failure due to a genetic disease called polycystic kidney disease. In the near future, his kidneys will completely fail and he will need weekly dialysis to keep him alive. Recently, Gary underwent transplant evaluations in Peoria, IL and Madison, WI and his doctors have told him that his best chance at a long and healthy life is a kidney transplant.
We hope to find a living donor match for Gary, but until then, we are forced to wait. He continues to work part-time and loves spending time with his family. Even though Gary has insurance, transplantation is extremely costly and adds considerable financial stress. He will have numerous out-of-pocket expenses, including travel and relocation, living donor costs, co-pays and deductibles, and the costly immunosuppressant medications he will have to take for the rest of his life.
To help offset these expenses, a fundraising campaign in Gary’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for nearly 30 years. All donations are tax deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the North-Central Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. You can make a difference in Gary’s life. Please consider making a donation.
Together as a community we can make a difference by assisting Gary with our generosity and support.
With sincere gratitude,
Judy Nunnery
