Many thanks to all of you who have generously given your love, support and comfort to our family while my husband, Steve O’Shea, bravely fought for his life. Following so many years of liver-related health crises, our prayers were answered when, this past May, Steve received the ultimate gift of life – a liver transplant.
The wonder of his survival continues to fill us with immeasurable joy. We will always be forever grateful and humbled by the generous act of his donor’s family. Steve is doing well with his new liver and we would like to encourage all of you to consider becoming an organ donor. Without his donor, Steve may not have survived much longer.
This brings me to the purpose of this letter. As you can imagine, Steve’s strenuous journey has led to staggering medical bills. Transplantation, follow up appointments, treatments and anti-rejection medications are very expensive. Even with insurance, the cost of everything is overwhelming. Because of this we must continue to rely on those with giving and caring hearts.
To help ease the burden of these on-going medical expenses, a fundraising campaign in Steve’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for over 30 years. All contributions are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Southeast Liver Transplant Fund and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. Please consider making a contribution.
On behalf of Steve, myself and our family, thank you again for your ongoing support, generosity, kindness and prayers.

My husband, Steve, who had a liver transplant on May 23,2014, and I would like to thank all who contributed to his fund raising campaign. You have no idea what this means to us. We would also like to thank the people at HELP HOPE LIVE, for making our fundraising seamless. Transplant expenses can be very costly and HELP HOPE LIVE helped us find a way to cushion some of the expenses. We have been so blessed this past year and also wanted to send our prayers to the family of the donor. My husband is one year out of transplant, doing well and planning a trip to Texas to see his family. THANK YOU & GOD BLESS
