Now after years of doctor visits, physical, occupational and water therapies, and maintenance medications, Kayla has been told she is in remission from any possible catastrophic relapsing event! Due to the extensive nerve damage, however, it is unclear if Kayla will ever walk again.
Kayla is now 21 years old and enrolled in college with American Intercontinental University and is starting on her major in Forensic Science. In order to do this, she has committed herself to learning to live as independently as possible. Kayla is still working with her service dog Bella but now has a second service dog Daisy that can assist Kayla with mobility that her first dog Bella is not able to do.
Kayla’s family and friends are such a wonderful support group and they all try and assist when they can but there are issues in trying to be able to transport Kayla safely to and from doctor appointments, college and any other activities she needs to do.
This is where we need your help! Kayla and her family have found a wheelchair accessible van. It is a VERY OLD one 1996 Dodge 2500 Van that they were able to purchase BUT the van DOES NOT RUN. They have been trying to fix it out of pocket but have not been able to get it running.
The van would help open up a completely NEW world to Kayla and her family. To just be able to get her into a car without any possible injury to her since she would be able to access it on her own without someone trying to pick her up and down to get into the car. ANY donations are accepted which would be going towards fixing her van which will make her more independent and on her own.
We have chosen to fund raise with Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility to the full extent allowed by law for donors. Donors can be sure that funds donated will be used only for what Kayla needs.

With her big smiles and determination and with a maturity far beyond her young years, Kayla always takes everything in stride. She tells everyone that she is the same person she always was and knows that this path was chosen for her for a reason. Please think of Kayla and her courage when you read this appeal. Together, we can all help to give Kayla the life and future she deserves!
Thank you for your generosity, support, love and prayers.
