2nd Transplant
Rick had a 2nd bone marrow transplant on June 24, 2010. He is at day T-36 and doing well. His counts are up to where once he is able to eat regularly, he will be able to come home next week. He was blessed to find a 2nd perfectly matched unrelated donor. The donor even sent a card with the cells. Thanks for everyone's thoughts and prayers. I will post some interesting pics from the transplant. (I don't think there are many folks that are eating a McDonalds Sausage, Egg and Cheese Biscuit during their actual infusion.)
Upcoming 1 year anniversary
Help us to celebrate Rick's 1 year anniversary!
Thanks to all who have helped Rick this past year. He has had some ups and downs, but is back on the road to recovery. His new "birthday" is coming up on November 7th, the one year anniversary of his transplant. He is still looking at another 6 months before he will be able to return to work. If you would like to help us celebrate, please consider a tax-deductible contribution to his NTAF fund to help offset the additional medical costs he has incurred over the last year. Thank you for all of your prayers and wishes!

6/13/09 - update. The transplant went well, but Rick had a relapse of the APL in May. He is back out of the hospital, and the transplant seems to be kicking back in. This hiccup has extended his recovery now to at least September. He is doing well, but can use cards/visits/calls from friends.
